Hey, userMv5iLcu6i5, thank you for bringing this to our attention. I completely understand how frustrating it has to be not to be able to use such a core feature of your phone. Let's see if we can go over some stuff that may help you out. If your device has updated to the latest One UI 8.5 software, it's possible you just need to restart your phone to get rid of any glitches.
> To restart Your Device: Press and hold the Volume Down and Side buttons simultaneously for about 10 seconds until the Samsung logo appears. This clears temporary software glitches that often freeze app menus.
> Also, make sure your phone is up to date. Go to Settings > Software update > Download and install to ensure you have the latest stability fixes.

App-Specific troubleshooting
1) Clear Camera Cache and Data: Navigate to Settings > Apps > Camera > Storage. Tap Clear cache, then Clear data.
2) Verify Permissions: Ensure the camera app has all necessary permissions. Go to Settings > Apps > Camera > Permissions and confirm that Camera and Microphone are set to "Allow".

Safe Mode
Test in Safe Mode: This disables third-party apps to see if a recently downloaded app (like a social media filter or QR scanner) is interfering with the camera. To enter, press and hold the Power menu, then long-press Power off until the Safe Mode prompt appears. If the settings open here, a third-party app is likely the culprit.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, it may indicate a bigger issue. We would recommend a service repair. For further assistance with this, you can send us a private message by clicking on any Samsung Moderator's profile and clicking "Send A Message."
