Gallery problems

I have a Samsung S26 Ultra & have discovered yet another problem between Android & Apple IPhone. When I download a picture from my Google messages that was sent by an IPhone user, it goes into an ALBUM titled "Messages" instead of going right to Pictures. Can't transfer from this "messafes" album to pictures either. So causes me problems - for example - when I want family photos together it doesn't work when I have family members that some use Android & others have Iphones. I like to have that altogether in one spot. My Samsung S23 Ultra worked perfectly so I know it's a newer issue with this S26 Ultra. Please Samsung, fix this!!

Ok so the pictures album is not where I need the pics to go - I just need it to go to Pictures! It's hard to explain but I am trying.

Not another app - when you go into Gallery & on the bottom area it has Pictures, Albums, Collections etc. It's that Pictures I want my text message pics to go to. It's hard to explain

I think it depends on your phone cuz I could do it too with my S23 Ultra but not with the S26 Ultra!

Do you already have pics in your Pictures folder/album? Is it showing up in Gallery? If not, is it hidden in Gallery?

There are only a few pics in the picture album but I have thousands of pics in the Picture area. It does show in Gallery

That's only a category. It's not an album. That category pulls together pics from all the albums on your phone. You can't move pics in or out of it.

If you tap "more," you'll see a category for Videos. It works the same way. It pulls together videos from wherever they're stored on your phone.

You can only move content between albums. Regardless of where the content lives on your device, it will show up under the Pictures and Videos categories.
