Gallery problems

I have a Samsung S26 Ultra & have discovered yet another problem between Android & Apple IPhone. When I download a picture from my Google messages that was sent by an IPhone user, it goes into an ALBUM titled "Messages" instead of going right to Pictures. Can't transfer from this "messafes" album to pictures either. So causes me problems - for example - when I want family photos together it doesn't work when I have family members that some use Android & others have Iphones. I like to have that altogether in one spot. My Samsung S23 Ultra worked perfectly so I know it's a newer issue with this S26 Ultra. Please Samsung, fix this!!

Oh no. That's really bad 👎 Why would Google Messages do that? Another reason not to use it. That's insane.

The Pictures tab is not an album. All pictures in every album will show in the pictures tab. You cannot move anything to pictures, they will already be there, unless you also have an album named pictures. You can move them from the messages created album to the camera album or any other album you want. I don't know why it bothers you to have a messages album - all pictures diwnloaded from messages will show in the messages album, and all puctures will show in the pictures tab. They will be in the order if the date in the metadata. If the metadata has been stripped then it will show as the date downloaded.

Pictures are NOT going into the pic

Just tap on the image in the message itself, as if to make it highlight, turn grey so to speak. Then cllck on the download icon on the top. It should just show up in the pictures section in the sections bar. If it does not, then open the Albums, then click "View all", there will be a messages folder that should show. Open that, select the image then chose to move it by tapping the 3 vertical dots, move to album then pictures.

Pictures are NOT going into the pics tab & it seems like it's the pics I get from an Iphone user. And it is a problem for me for personal reasons I don't need to share. My S23 Ultra worked just fine but not this phone!

Look at the picture info in the messages album, then look for the picture on that date in the pictures tab. Or, you can move the pucture into any other album and see if it shows up in the luctures tab. ALL pictures in your gallery, whether in an album or not, will show up in the pictures tab. This is not a G-messages thing, this is a gallery thing.
