Galaxy S26
Hello. I've been an avid iPhone user for many years. Many of the apps I have played for years have been freezing and don't work well on my 26 Ultra. On top of that, android auto doesn't always work. I've tried deleting the cache for all of these things as well as uninstalling and reinstalling and the same issues keep happening. Also, certain apps have their own standard notification sound (such as Facebook messenger, TikTok, Ring cameras, etc.) and on this phone they all default to the phone notification sound. I've missed many important texts because I assumed it was just another app and ignored it until later. Any help with these issues would be greatly appreciated. I'm stuck with this phone for at least another year. I was hoping to switch to Samsung and stay with Samsung as that is what most of my family uses but if I keep running into more inconvenient situations then I'm not sure I'll be purchasing another Samsung going forward. Thank you

You can set unique notification sounds for each app.

Select anything you want to personalize. I love Google Assistant they are trying bury with undeveloped learning horrible letter writing gemini I told Hey Google go toss down a black hole by sneaking in the back AI door. Google you can search anything you want to do it will tell you exactly by steps about the features like the individual ring tones. Available tones is determined by Manufacturer or personalize etc.. unfortunately but getting better at Samsung now.

Like @Pianodude58 said, turn on notification categories. The *dumbest* thing Samsung ever did was not make that feature default. On top of that, they buried the setting.

Go to settings > notifications > advanced settings. Toggle "manage notification categories for each app." Now you can customize notifications like every other Android OEM lets you do out of the box.

As far as Android Auto, a number of S26 users have been having issues. It comes down to a combination of device, Android Auto, Google Play Services, and vehicle head unit. I read last week that Google is working on an Android Auto update, but I don't know any details.

Make sure Android Auto and Google Play Services are updated. You can update AA in the Play Store. For Play Services, go to settings > Google services > all services > system services. If there's an update for Play Services, it will be obvious.

Thank you. I just looked and both are up to date. I'm glad I'm not the only S26 user having issues

You're definitely not. If you Google "Android Auto S26," you'll find a ton of tech articles and some things to try, which may or may not work. Lol
