Notifications cause audio to decrease

On my new S26, when I am listening to any kind of audio (podcast, songs, etc), and I get a notification, the sound will decrease for a couple seconds when I get the notification.  I have tried to change several settings but I can't get this fixed.

Any solutions to this?  My S23 didn't do this.

Thanks

That's normal. It's like a split second..

That is definitely not normal behavior.  This has never happened on any of my previous phones.  Also, it's not a split second, it's about 3 seconds.

Every phone I've had dips out on sound when a sound notification comes in. Not 3 seconds

Why would you think that's not normal behavior?  It does that so you don't think the notification tone is part of your music.  When you are listening to any audio, when a notification with a sound comes in, the volume on your audio will automatically decrease.  It's the same when Android Auto lowers your music when the voice guide comes on, and connecting your phone to your car's BT will lower your music when a call comes in.

@BobInOhio Oddly enough, this is called audio ducking. Try this:

  1. Open Samsung's Good Lock.
  2. Click on the Sound Assistant.
  3. Click on Multi sound and enable it.

I didn't have that installed yet on the new phone, but I added it and did those settings.  I'll see how it goes.  Thanks.

Unfortunately that didn't solve this issue.  Any other ideas?  Thanks

What worked for me while playing music via Bluetooth at events was placing the phone on silent and you get no notification deductions.

That seems to be working.  I usually don't like to keep my phone on silent but if that works I might have to do that.  Thanks.
