Mine did the same thing. One day all of a sudden there was a diagonal crack that over the coarse of the day extended from top to bottom. A few days later another one appeared. Then a few months later 3 more lines running parallel to the others appeared. I am an old fart and treat my phone with care. I KNOW I did not drop it or press hard on the screen. It is in a hard case when not in my hand.
Glass does not spontaneously crack.
Phones don't spontaneously light on fire either, unless of course you buy the wrong Samsung product.
If you aren't going to be helpful perhaps you ought to move along.
I'd also like to add that dogs don't have opposable thumbs. That being said, I'm trying to figure out how she dropped it, cracked the screen and then magically put it back on the table face-up the way I left it.
I had the same experience. I'm on my third S8 (second replacement). However, it wasn't spontaneous. I did drop it both times but not from the height that would have cracked any previous phone. In fact, I've never cracked a phone screen before in my life. I now have it in an Otter Box commuter case and am very careful with it.
I'm sorry to hear that. Like @SkanderHelali said, glass doesn't just 'crack'. It can crack from too much pressure, intense heat, intense cold, blunt objects, etc. In this case, it is considered the accidental damage and is not covered by warranty. The only time damage is considered covered under warranty is if it is a known defect which at this time, is not.
There are several options such as:
1. Replacing through carrier
2. Replacing through Insurance.

This should be a known issue I've seen plenty of these complaints online and I've seen 1st hand on my wife's s8+ a week after release day and my s8+ a few days ago..this "new gorilla glass is garbage or some phones got defective glass screen from the manufacturer cause I've never cracked a phone. I'm always upto date when new phones release and I baby my devices. What a shame Samsung..worried too much about exploding batteries but neglected the actual durability of the phone itself
The most appropriate response to this is 'this is not a known issue, yet'.... This phone had no increased pressure, heat, cold etc... It was in my fanny pack as has every other phone I run with, and this one cracked.. 17 days after purchase. What a ridiculous piece of junk. And a huge waste of my money... Now since I don't want to spend the 150 dollar deductible I get to make payments on a broken phone....
Brand new A10. 2 days old. Hairline screen crack across the screen. I have never cracked or even scratched a phone before.
Faulty screens. Something here is not right.
