You have to enable notifications for Google messages in the watch notification settings.  The watch will only receive notifications from apps you give permission to.  Some people want all notifications to come to their watch, others want all notifications on their phone and only important notifications on their watch.  Go to the wear app, watch settings, notifications and then look for Google messages and turn on the slider to allow notifications.  Do that for any other app you want notifications on the watch.

@Rj Which Galaxy Watch do you have?

If you have the GW 4 or later, do you have Google messages installed on it?

@Rj Make sure that, on you phone, you have Sound enabled and the sound notifications allowed for Google Messages.

If that is all set, have you tried the following:

  1. Open the Samsung Wearable app
  2. Click on Watch settings
  3. Click on Notifications
  4. Click on Help with notifications
  5. Click on Not getting notifications on watch. It will show you which apps are blocked on the watch from getting notifications.

Do you have the watch on your wrist?  Do you have Smart Device Selection selected or do  you have Always Show on Both selected?  Do you have Do Not Disturb on and didn't select Google Messages as an app that gets through?

And, you are having the same issue with the buds, as with the messaging app?  I truly don't know anything about the buds - do they send notifications?  Sorry if this sounds like an obvious question, but have you rebooted the watch since adding the buds and the messaging app?  Are you sure you are not getting silent notifications?  Go to the notification settings for the phone app and allow vibration. You shouldn't have to, but the watch, like the phone needs periodic restarting for optimization, and I find that the first thing to do when things don't behave like they should is to just do a simple restart.  Also, as far as Google Messages go, try sending a test message from the watch app and see if that jump starts the notifications.
