I purchased the Bespoke Smart Slide-In Induction Range (NSI6DG9300SRAA) back in April. I'm now in the process of installing it and have found the installation manual unclearโ€”particularly regarding the optional rear filler kit. The manual states:

  • You must use the rear filler kit to install the range in a freestanding cutout cabinet.

  • This kit can only be used when the opening in the countertop is 25" deep.

  • If the countertop depth is greater than 25", there will be a gap between the filler kit and the back wall.

I asked ChatGPT for clarification, and it suggested that the filler kit should be used only if the countertop depth is exactly 25". If the depth is greater than 25", the kit should not be used, as it will leave a gap at the back.

The confusion (and it seems ChatGPT is a bit confused too) stems from the fact that the manual does not specify a clear reference point on the rangeโ€”such as what should align with the front of the adjacent countertops, or whether there should be a minimum required gap between the back of the range and the wall.

My question is: How far should I push the range into the space?
Should the front of the range align flush with the front edge of the surrounding countertops? Or is there a specific clearance I need to leave at the back?

BTW, I asked Samsung and was told to contact the delivery company RXO (which does not install the range).

I have never had an oven flush with a counter. I would go ahead with the filler if the front of the range location is OK for you. Samsung help is lousy.

I have an induction model. It comes with a small slotted ventilation grille at the rear of the range which goes directly against the wall. The range extends about 2 or 3 inches past the front edge of the countertop. No filler plate needed.
