KitchenI recently got a Samsung, model NSI6DG9900SRAC.
It has a horribly annoying feature. When I wipe it clean and touch the door open button it will turn the range on, open the door and turn on the light in the oven. This button works instantly while you would have to hold down the turn on button for 3 seconds so in theory it is easier to turn on the range by opening the door than actually turn it on.
This is so annoying that I am thinking about getting the range replaced.
Any idea if this can be fixed in a software update? Unfortunately I see no settings for this.
In short, the open door button should be disabled when the range is off!

KitchenThanks for reaching out. Support for US products is the focus of this forum. As your device is a non-US model information is severely limited. We kindly suggest that you use this link to look for a support team in the area your product was manufactured in: https://www.samsung.com/visitcountry/

KitchenI had previously found the solution you suggested but it simply isn't a good one.
- You have to remember every time you turn off the range to go into settings and put the lock on, because once you unlock it, that setting is forgotten as it is basically a toggle on/off, not a true setting.
- Even with the lock on, the range still instantly turns on and starts beeping and babbing if you dare to wipe the button.
So, not an acceptable solution in my opinion. This is just a very bad design:
- It turns the range on faster than the power button, which has a 3 sec delay.
- It is the only other active button while the range is off
- It is even semi active when the range is locked as it still turned the range on.
- When I actually want to use it, that is when the oven is on, it gives me a warning and I must confirm, but no such thing the the range is off.

KitchenThis is a safety issue and should not happen. The button should not be so sensitive, but I don't understand why there is even a need for a button to open an oven door. In any case, opening the door is one thing, firing up the oven is another. Call Samsung support and see if there's any way to disable this "feature". Perhaps its in the manual somewhere.
