I have a Samsung SmartActiveJet washing machine. I've barely had it two years and it is CONSTANTLY unbalanced. I'm no engineer but I can tell when something is designed to fail, or designed without regards to failure. The springs are way too weak and the basket bangs around until the cycle stops. Shifting around the clothes doesn't work (4 pairs of pants, really?), and every time I start it again, it goes through an entire drain cycle, wasting time, electricity and water. Meanwhile, my grandma's GE washer from the 60's is still a powerhouse cleaning machine. Classic Planned Obsolescence by a large tech corporation. If I try to fix it myself, I void the warranty (might even be illegal, who knows?). Samsung is trying to funnel customers into either buying a new one, or calling in Samsung techs who charge hundreds of dollars to fix intentional, designed problems. I will never buy anything Samsung again and I encourage you not to, either. I'm guessing this post will either get removed or replied to with a hollow referral to their 'calibration' page.

Hello and Welcome to the Community, StacksThaProphet! Having a washer that is constantly unbalanced with a small load is definitely a concern, and we want to help.

From your explanation of what's happening - with the washer banging the sides of washer, it sounds like service is needed. We would normally have you check things like checking if the washer is properly leveled, if the drain hose isn't too far down into the drain pipe, and calibration, but if you've already tried those and it's still not working, then it needs a repair.

With the length of time you've had the washer, it sounds like it may be outside Samsung's normal 1 year warranty. If you have an extended protection plan through Samsung or another retailer, we would recommend going through the extended warranty/protection plan to have the service set up.

If that's not the case, we will be happy to set you up for service over a private message.
Please include the following information:
Model Number
Serial Number
First and Last Name
Best Contact phone number
Address where the unit is located
Email address

You can also locate repair servicers online at https://www.samsung.com/us/support/service/ Our Customer Care Team at 1-800 Samsung (1-800-726-7864) is also available.

If you prefer to go through your own dealer or repair the washer yourself, this website will need your model number but will provide additional information: https://samsungparts.com/pages/self-repair-services
