Hello, so as mentioned in the title of this post my monitor randomly goes black for a second and then turns back on and it does that all the time, ever since I bought this monitor I had this issue but I could never find an answer, anyone else has this problem or maybe you have a solution?

Thanks

Same issue here - G9 OLED.

It's a very strange problem in may case. The only time I get black screens (so far) is when using WhatsApp for Desktop, Microsoft Paint, Photoshop, Sekiro FPS Unlocker and ReShade. The only program that consistently causes black screen to happen without even moving my mouse or performing certain actions is WhatsApp for desktop. All the other programs require certain mouse movements or actions to trigger the black screen. It's worth noting that the monitor I had before the G9 OLED was Dell's Alienware AW3423DW,. This panel is provided by Samsung. I never had any of these problems with that monitor. This leads me to believe that the problem has something to do with Samsung's panel software.

For reference I am running Windows 11 with an Nvidia card and an AMD Processor. I am on the latest drivers for both and I have tried using HDMI 2.1 and DP 2.0 and the problem persists (with HDR on and off). I thought it might be Tizen OS (the G9 operating system) but clearly it isn't judjing by the information reported in this thread from other Samsung Monitors of a different ilk.

+1 to this. Same hardware and windows 11.

Bought brand new HDMI 2.1 and DP2.0 cables as well.

Also occurs with HDR off. Going to try turning off Variable Refresh Rate and see if that works.

So far it seems like a firmware update is needed.

I'm having exactly the same issues, including the WhatsApp for desktop issue you are mentioning.

I was now trying to do some work on Adobe Illustrator, and each time I click on my artboard, the screen goes to black and then pops back up again with the source switch logo on the left top of the screen. This is making it unworkable.

I already sold my Neo G9, with which I had no issues. Before the CG93, which is giving me this issues, I already had a CG95 which had a faulty oled panel. I returned the CG95 and tried my luck with a CG93. The panel looks great, but now I'm having these black screen issue which is making it impossible to work on PC.

I also already tried, 2 different DisplayPort Cables, 2 different HDMI 2.1 cables, tried all the outputs on my GPU (3090), tried changing the monitor settings etc.

The only thing that seems to have worked for now is to completely turn of G-Sync.
But I didn't spend this much money for a G-Sync compatible screen, to have to turn it off so the monitor works properly.

Hopefully a solution can be provided asap, or I will return this screen as well, and will never purchase a Samsung screen again.

Had the exact same issue (screen going black with source name, then coming back, when using Snagit and Trello in my case) and found a fix. In my case, it was caused by G-Sync, and the issue got resolved when I either disabled G-Sync for windowed apps, or disabled G-Sync for the specific apps in the Nvidia Control Panel.

This thread on the 1Password forum has good instructions for both options.

Hope it helps!

I also got the new Samsung S95C and I have this exact issue on my PC.

tried everything- HDR off -on, gsync off/on, VRR off/on. it continues to occur randomly.

Seems like monitor looses connection with the PC (cable and GPU (4090) no known issues with other monitor). so its something going with the monitor.

Samsung please help- else will be forced to return

I just setup my G9 OLED and I also have random black screens that last for a couple seconds which is killer when racing. Seems Samsung has no frigging clue how to make a monitor. PS I did update firmware which allowed me to select 5120x1440 whereas it was maxed at 2560x1440 out of the box. I also have Alienware 34" and only problem is pixel refresh appearing on screen randomly

I get exactly the same. Same hardware. 2070 Super, Windows 11, and a G9 (G95TSSUXEN).

Everything is latest firmware or drivers. Tried multiple cables.

Some games and apps will immediately cause the screen to blank and the source banner will come up top left. Then it sits there with the blue light flashing. PC is fine, sound is still working, game or app is still running and taking input but screen is dead. I've had to connect it to a smart switch so I can ask Alexa to power cycle the screen.

And yes, I also sometimes can't wake it from sleep and it has to be hard power cycled.

This has been going on since day 1 of owning the screen and i've seen thousands of people with the same problem.
