QLED and The Frame TVs

I am not sure if it is a setting or what...but my music frame connected to a 2020 The Frame it seems to be only playing ambient sound.  like background music and it's very low in volume.  It was working fine before.  If I use it with Bluetooth or Chromecast it's fine.. music plays perfectly.  Even in TV via Bluetooth mode.  It is only the Wifi part with the TV.  It is almost like it thinks it is a rear speaker (even though I have it next to TV on the wall).  The Music Frame is connected via Wifi in 5ghz band.  But I tried different band as well.  2.4ghz and 5ghz.  Doesn't matter.  Which is why I think the Music Frame is stuck in some "mode" that my TV can't control?

i know my 2020 The Frame doesn't have Q-Symphony but for the better part of the year it was playing TV content just fine via WiFi.

I have already reset the Music Frame multiple times.

Hello mbze430, welcome to our Samsung Community. We understand the concern regarding the audio of the music frame and would love to assist. It appears from your statement you've reset the music frame multiple times which is great however we recommend when resetting any accessory to reset the actual device (TV) as well. We have the instructions to perform those steps here https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00077524/. Please keep us updated, and best of luck with getting this resolved.

It looks like the Music Frame is being recognized as an ambient or rear speaker instead of a main speaker when connected over Wi-Fi. A few things you can try:

  • On the TV, go to Settings > Sound > Sound Output and select the Music Frame directly (not grouped as “TV + Other Speakers”).

  • In the SmartThings app, remove the Music Frame and add it back as a standalone speaker.

  • Under Expert Sound Settings, try turning off Dolby Atmos/Surround to make sure it gets the full audio channel.

  • Run a Network Reset on the TV (Settings > General > Network > Reset Network) so it clears old connection info.

  • Check for the latest firmware updates on both the TV and the Music Frame.

Since the 2020 Frame doesn’t support Q-Symphony, the Music Frame should work as a regular Wi-Fi speaker. If it worked fine before and then changed, it may be related to a software update.
