My new Samsung 55" S95C OLED TV, experiences seemingly random 2-5 second drop outs of both video and audio while trying to play PlayStation 5. I have tried multiple certified 2.1 HDMI cables in multiple ports on my One Connect Box, and this has not changed the situation. I'm not alone on this either, as there are several people on Reddit who are also mentioning experiencing the same issue. I have tested the system and HDMI cables with a competitor's 4k 120hz television, and everything is fully functional there with no issues over 10+ hours of gameplay.

This happens with both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 games, both at 4K and 1080p, and at 120hz or 60hz. Disabling HDCP on the PS5 seems to reduce the frequency with which this happens, but definitely does not entirely solve it and shouldn't be necessary regardless.

Using Device Care, my HDMI cables all pass the cable test, and Signal History shows no issues whatsoever even immediately following a drop out. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I love the TV otherwise and would like to be able to keep it, but this issue is a deal breaker right now.

I am on version 1212 of the software, and these are my current connections to the One Connect Box:

HDMI 1: PlayStation 5

HDMI 3 (Arc): Roku Smart Soundbar

Ethernet Cable

Power Cable

A lot of the options in the PS5' menu only have two options: Off and Automatic. This applies to VRR, 120hz, and some others. Most games will only output 60hz, some will do 120hz but only at a forced 1080p, etc. I do have a real 4k 120hz game that I'm testing with though.

It also came out in July that the 95C actually can only do 40gbps anyway, which was a limit caused by the One Connect box. I've read this shouldn't effect the PS5, since it typically only uses around 32.

The HDMI cable arrived. It functioned exactly the same as all the other cables. The TV detected that a PlayStation 5 had been plugged in over HDMI, it automatically turned on Game Mode, and I was taken to the login screen. Everything worked fine for some period of time (45 minutes in this case), black screen drop out, works fine for another period of time, drop out. The TV and the PlayStation say the cable is good. Device Care shows no signal interruptions having ever happened. I saw the same behavior with no obvious difference at both 60 and 120hz.

I'm really thinking that my One Connect box is probably just defective, with a loose outside chance that the S95C model and/or its current firmware are just fundamentally broken in some way. To be sure though, I'm planning to follow the other suggestion to disconnect everything, reset everything, reconnect everything, and try again. Ugh, and I'm definitely going to need a second person's help with that one since my set is wall mounted. That'll probably take me a day or two.

If you have any other suggestions in the mean time, by all means.

Should set the output to 130 4k the Playstation will dynamically ajust the refresh to optimize the resolution depending on how demanding the game is
Also rgb may be causing an issue try the setti g in the image I attachScreenshot_20230813_234804_Chrome.jpg

Reading up the Playstation5 it does have 2.1 bandwidth limitations locked to 40gb instead of the full 48. Another issue I found is even tho some sasmumg tvs support a more higher quality output bit depth. Ps5 does not detect this. Seeing the rgb 60hz. Try 4.2.2 120hz if can

Hello, everyone let me give you the bad news, I've the same issue as you with ps5 and I already did the process with Samsung support  they replaced the entirely tv set and the problem continues with the new set ,  the defective is one connect box but at this point most probably is the design since this problem is not present on model S90C , I'll demand a refound and in the future get Sony A95l most probably, very upset with this issue.

If you do more investigation we are a lot of users with this problem , check AVS forum of this model  by yourself.  Is not  limited to ps5 only , also to high end graphic cards like RTX3000 and 4000 series, follow my advice and try to do a refound to save time. Same as you very angry because the panel itself is quite perfect image the price is good , but this big issue throw all this good thing to the trash

Interesting. I recent purchased a Q60C and I’m having issues connecting with the PS5 as well. Different model, but I noticed it’s the same firmware version. I’m wondering if that’s a contributing factor or if others with older firmware are also having this problem.

Well Q60 is a lower end model, it doesn't have HDMI 2.1 ports , so you can't really get video 4K 120Hz HDR , but if you're experiencing dropouts even at 40K 60Hz , the hardware has the fault , you should contact with Samsung support
