I don't understand what you guys are doing with these UI updates with these pesky little (dumb) changes! Honestly - notification list for one! This "separate or together" in PANEL SETTINGS a hard to locate thing REALLY?! And worse IT DOESN'T WORK AS INTENDED. For example.... I have the app ColorNote that I've got several PINNED notes for my drop-down notification list that listed each one that I frequently access.... okay fine, it makes sense to group them and I kinda like it, but when I tap to look at the full list it only shows 8 out of the 12 I've got pinned that's always been available for well over a decade UNTIL your UI 8 update! ColorNote hasn't had an update since June 30th 2025 so it ain't them it's YOU SAMSUNG. So I emailed them that, like you and everyone else, too busy to return all tech supports and I am a paid user, but I'm urging them to respond so they can update their app to coincide with UI 8. I don't even know if it's their responsibility or not - either way I'm stuck with this BUG.

There's other pesky little things I'm noticing... This one is old but why is it that I'm Gallery or you photo edit always shrinks the image to then pen write or whatever so small it's impossible. .. Like why can't it remain the same size to comfortably edit? I'm so tired right now I can't think of the other pesky things I happened to run up to. Oh oh it's the drop-down notification list - it's not as sensitive as it used to be. I'm swiping from center and can't separate from the N. list to the what you call the short/long setting menu... I'm just frustrated swiping to go from the notification list that I didn't want you see and vice versa. Also, when I was hanging up from a call I go the drop-down menu to look for the line for the call to hangup however it's not there and again I'm swiping to find it and learned you changed to a swipe left or right to change pages now?!? And with the swipe pages now I'm swiping and accidentally deleting notifications from me I list without any way to "undo" like many things nowadays.

My goodness I didn't see where any of these things are explained and I check the details on all l updates some of which are redundant and don't exist like the AI stuff. The AI stuff has ON OFF slide buttons but I SEE nothing to do.

I don't know if I'm explaining it right. But it seems as if you rolled out some things too fast and they aren't working right, geesh. And yes I've rebooted uninstalled and reinstalled and the caches etc. They are bugs or worse maybe.

You can put the panels back together so you only have to swipe down from wherever your finger happens to land.  Swipe down from the right side until you expose the edit pencil.  Tap the pencil and on the upper left will be a button for panel settings.  Tap that and then, select "together".  Now your notification area and quick panel will be together as it was in the past.  While you are in the edit screen, you can also edit your quick panel icons, if you choose to. When you exit the panel settings, you can then edit the control panel area to move the control widgets around to the order that makes the most sense for you.  When you are finished with any changes, do not forget to tap "done" on the upper right, or your changes will not be saved.

Hi. Yes thank you. I am though aware of all of that, but what I'm saying is that the functionality is not good. And with all the swiping we have to do now I'm accidentally deleting notifications some I don't mind but it's the nonsense of it. It was so perfect before. Swipe from ANYWHERE from the top... Once for the notes, a second time for the settings. Now they have me swiping all over the map at the top it's just ridiculous I'm sorry but it just isn't making my life any easier, it's worse. It was a petty thing to change and maybe they're trying to appease left-handed folks differently from right-handed and that's okay but EVERYONE can swipe from the center. Dah.

I noticed the magnifier works across all apps now, or at least all the ones I've used whereas it was here a long time ago then was spotty at when and where. So now it's functional and I'm happy with that. I'm talking about when you long tap to highlight something to move the cursor for perfect placement. It's shaky and sensitive but it's there.

So I'm just trying to get things in order, again. Although my pinned ColorNotes in notifications are now completely gone and I access then everyday all day. It's terrible. The Notistar I thought was interfering with the new UI8 install notification change and deleted it altogether. That could be why they're all gone. I'm gonna try to reinstall and see. I noticed you commented on an update that did something on you end. I think it was you. I can't remember exactly what was different on the update of Notistar. Anyway I gotta eat dinner 🍽

Put Notistar back and enable set app not able to clear and then select color note. Notistar does not interfere with anything.

If you put the panels back together, it is EXACTLY as it was before. Also, if you put notistar back, any notification you accidentally swipe away, will still be in notistar.

My ColorNote app has hundreds of notes maybe a thousand notes and although I could search for what I'm looking for and hope I don't get a hundred with the name because the search goes like any other, it will pull l up everything that contains that word. Nah not feasible. The swipe down notification list is specifically designed for how I'm using it - no workarounds that's crazy. Just make it right Samsung goodness. Perfect for over a decade until now! It's just unacceptable

The only way to get your notes to stay pinned to the notification area is to reinstall Notistar.

I'm going to reinstall shortly and check it out again. If I remember though Notistar runs as a separate notification list but within Samsung list. it had a different look and feel from Samsung. I will have to give it a chance. I really want ColorNote right. I think if I just get that back I'll be great. t sounds like you use ColorNote too, but right now it's not letting me get any more than 8 pinned notes no matter what I do. It's gotta be a ColorNote thing that has to coincide with Samsung UI 8.

Thank you so much for hanging in with me on this. I have so much to do but I will get Notistar back. i think you were the one that originally turned me onto Goodlock a year ago (I had a different screen name back then)

Best,
Joel

There are many ways to take a screen shot on a Galaxy phone. You can slide the side your palm across the screen, you can simultaneously press and hold the power and volume down keys, you can add the screenshot edge panel, you can create a routine to change a button action (requires GoodLock's routines+ module). Three finger tap is not one of them. Every other phone may have it, but Sansung is not every other phone.

You could also say Hey Google Take Screenshot.. the palm swipe is okay but often times you swipe away what you're trying to take a screenshot of -v now that's frustrating. The 2 finger thing on the volume and off button at the same time is also frustrating sometimes before I accidentally hit one before the other causing my volume to show on the screen that gets in the screenshot!

Hey Google take a screenshot Please (don't need to say please 😊, but I sometimes do)... That works so so so good and it's better if your trying to capture something that when any other method disappears. At least with the Google screenshot it stays on the screen to take the screenshot. I monkey around on these devices I'm one that wants to know how n my phone works and how can I make it the way I NEED it to be, it's always been important to me since day one with these things. I like change but be smart about the change and I'm getting fed up with Samsung. I'm not alone in that one either. Anyway

Congratulations Samsung/One UI. With your latest update, you made it impossible for my wife and me to get email on our phones. I tried clearing the cache and whatever else I could think of, but all I get is a stupid pop-up to download a link that will clean up my inbox to which I no longer have access. Seniors like us are dependent on email for medical appointments and other critical communications, and we shouldn't have to go through complicated procedures like backup all your data, uninstall, reinstall, etc. Just to be able to read a note from a doctor or loved one. Why force the update on us when our phones are working just fine? FYI, the latest update occurred early this morning 11/05/25, and the negative impact was immediate.
