Has anyone else's A9+ become virtually unusable after the latest update? It's only got 4 gigs of RAM which I'm feeling just isn't enough to run Android 16/One UI 8. All of my apps on my SD card used to run like they were meant to but now even the apps on the tablet storage just crawl... I'm really upset that this super capable media tablet has become crippled by Samsung's released update.
It really is a shame, this was a great tablet until they crippled it. Seems more like an Apple move than a Samsung move but I guess they just assume we'll get frustrated and buy something faster. Not being able to turn the external storage into larger internal is a bad move, too. I've had cheaper devices that allowed for adoptable storage in the past. 64GB is useless in 2026.
I'm lucky then. Everything is running just fine. I don't do anything fancy. Just email, lighe web browsing, watch movies from the SD card. All my streaming apps operate as expected too. My biggest issue was the bluetooth sound sync with video, that was resolved after installing Fine Lock/Sound Assistant.
That's really all I want my tablet to do as well and I think you're one of the very lucky few to be able to say otherwise, but for many users, the days of this device being able to do so unhindered are gone, sadly. I know it's the slowest and least likely to be cared for fish in the Samsung device aquarium, but that doesn't mean they should just flush it and forget it. A company as massive as Sammy with so much of it's sales being in their A series in the US should know full well that the users of the budget range really should be given to feel the same reliability in Samsung's products in the ecosystem as the top tier S series. I own an S24 Ultra and a Galaxy watch 6 and before this update, I never even thought of my A9+ as being budget. Sadly, even though this is the first time I've had a Samsung branded device become turtled after an update, I believe it won't be the last.
