Have the galaxy tab S9 plus. Was able to update the one ui 7 and my fingerprints stopped working. Removed and re entered them, still not working. Not removing my screen protector for it to work.

It does, I've done it before the reset and didn't recognize them. After resetting and some time passed it's working now. Didn't expect my fingerprints to mess up after the update.

Since you have a screen protector on it, did you enable the extra sensitivity?

The scanner was working well enough to add the new fingerprints, but not well enough to read them?  This would imply that the reader is not defective. If you registered the fingerprints with the screen protector on, it should certainly read them with it on. Have you cleared the cache partition after the update?

Didn't even come to mind for some reason I gave that a try and waited for a bit to turn it back on. It's back working so hopefully it stays that way. Thank you!

Coming back to this to say that it stopped working again. I've tried restarting and shutting down and still not working. I've looked it up and the last resort is to reset it. It's a pain and sucks how the update doesn't seem fully polished. Things happens but still.

Unfortunately, sometimes a reset is the only way to clear out errors. In most cases clearing the cache is sufficient, but sometimes things get twisted in an update.  The good news is that if you've had your phone on automatic updates, you have an update to restore (do take the precaution of saving any important data to an external device).  If you haven't been on auto backup, take the opportunity to manually backup your device before reset. Since, after a reset, a new OS is installed, it is unlikely whatever is causing this error will be repeated.  When you restore your backup, it will only restore your apps, settings and texts to the new firmware, not your faulty update.

Yeah. I just reset my tablet and it worked for a bit then back to being faulty in a way. It's becoming a hit or miss with it now, for me anyway. Hopefully, this be fixed whenever they can. Otherwise, the update is okay.

Have you run diagnostics on the tablet?  I am not sure if the tablets have the diagnostic module the way the phones and watches have, but I do not see why they wouldn't.  If it exists, you can find it in the support tab of the members app or the device care settings of your device.  If the sensor comes up as OK, put in an error report.  You can send feedback in the same area of the members app.
