My wife's S6 is in split screen mode and every video, discussion, etc has directions that do not comply. i.e. Go to Settings/Advanced and turn off split screen. The S6 Advanced does not have an option for split screen. I've spent hours try to turn this off. Help!

TabletsFixed. It's not a Samsung issue. If anyone else asks it's this:
With your tablet in regular mode open Google Play. Navigate to the page for Gmail. Click uninstall. Technically it will just uninstall all updates. That's okay. Open the app after the uninstall (do not update, yet.)
Set it up and open the settings menu from Gmail.
So hamburger menu > settings > general settings > 4th from bottom is about opening links in Gmail. MAKE SURE IT IS SELECTED.
Exit app.
Make sure Chrome is closed. Open Gmail and open a link. It should now act how you expect and not open in split screen.
When you have done is, close everything and update your Gmail app.

TabletsSorry about the wow instead of how. I have now found that Gmail and Chrome are "paired apps". How do I "unpair" them?
Thanks

Tablets@userdOXArCnegf Paired apps usually live in the Edge panel. When you open the edge panel, click on the pencil icon to edit the panel. Then click the - (minus) sign by the combo icon to remove that pair.
When you have split screen apps like this, you should be able to drag the dividing line to make one app full screen.

TabletsThanks. Help is always appreciated.
No combo seen in the panel. There were a couple of icons with a minus sign, but tapping just removed them from the panel. None of the apps on the large screen next to the panel had a minus sign. I pulled Gmail over to the panel and it then had a minus sign. I tapped it and it went back to the larger list.
Still have a split screen I can't get rid of. Dragging it off to the side does make it full screen, but if I then tap another link in Gmail I end up with a split screen again.
Galaxy S6 and my wife said it started after a recent update to the system.

TabletsI noticed the three dot menu at top right. when I tapped it I got a pop-up with
Open in split screen view
O (filled) Touch and Hold
O (not filled) Tap
Show recent apps (Toggled on)
Show app names (Not toggled)
No idea what it affects.

TabletsI keep finding things as I try stuff. This time I opened the panel, clicked the pencil, and the split apps are there, but faded so I can't do anything with them. I'll keep at it!
