can't select my region on tab S8+

Just bought a refurbished Tab S8+ but when setting up I can't select my region (USA) on an Android tablet. 

I bought a used Samsung Galaxy Tab S8+. I began setting it up, right after language, was "Select your country" (or region?).

I'm in the US and US was not an option. There were only 10ish countries listed, all relatively close to each other: Australia, New Zealand, Vietnam, Thailand, etc. 

Second it won't update to the latest OS. It stays at Android 14 with a security patch from 2024 when I see the latest should be at Android 16 with a more recent security patch.

I tried factory reseting but the problem is on going

The tablet was purchased through Temu. I know I know, but the seller is Cellular Professor based in Illinois and seems to have a good reputation and customer service. https://cellularprofessor.com/

Oh, you mean the s/n that's on the back?

No not the serial number, the model number which is on the back, or in settings under about tablet.

But that's all there is in both locations. There is an extended number of the X800 under the Software Update section, though

Thank you for that information however I'm still having trouble locating your model code in our system. Could you send myself or any of the mods a private message with the serial number on the back of the device? You could also send us a photo of the back of the tablet with the numbers too.
