On my Galaxy Tab 8 8.0 I  am trying to move my own recorded sound which is tored in my internal tablet storage to notification sounds so I can use this for my emails. I have done this easily on my Halaxy A15 phone as the was a little + sign which I used to add it but this is not on my tablet sounds!

I was told to do this - but it does not work.

1.   Long press on the file stoed on my tablets internal files and then it shows options like move, copy, etc.

2. I pressed both move and copy which were the same and copied. Then I went to my settings - sounds-notifications and there was nowhere to paste it and no + as I said. Am I missing something as I am very elderly but it worked on my phone. Someone also said to go into my Outlook app - tap notifications which are on and there is somewhere there to add sounds, but the isn't

Thanks everyone

- Go to myfiles app
- Select "audio files" from menu
- Hard press on the audio file you want to move
- Tap "internal storage"
- Select "notifications" from the list
- Select "move here"

Try copying the recording into My Files → Internal storage → Notifications. If that folder doesn't exist, create it first.

Then go to Settings → Sounds and vibration → Notification sound. The recording should appear in the list. You don't paste the file inside Settings—the Notifications folder is what makes Android recognize it as a notification sound.
