TabletsFor years, I have used smart switch to update apps on my Tab A tablet from my Galaxy S5 phone. During that time I have had numerous problems but always got it to work eventually
Not today. Samsung broke it.
I start Smart Switch on the phone. I start it on the Tab A tablet. On the phone, I select send from this phone. On the tablet I select receive on this tablet and select Galaxy/Android as the source. I also say wireless on the tablet. The tablet shows a QR dot display.
The phone has a display for the camera to display the QR display on the phone. At this point, the process has continued and worked. Today I get a displaying another QR code saying to update the Smart Switch on the tablet. However today I get a screen using Update Smart Switch on your new phone. Scan this QR code with your new phone to update Smart Swtich. However the tablet does not open a scan display window to process the QR code displayed on the S5 phone.
If I hit trouble scanning on the tablet. I get a display saying Trouble Scanning. If you are not able to scan the QR code, you can find your device in the list of available devices instead. I click Next. I see a spinner. Then I see a message saying no connection devices found.
I am stuck. Samsung broke something and I have wasted most of an afternoon.
