TabletsI am seeking to transfer files over a USB connection from my Galaxy Tab S6 to my Ubuntu 22.04 PC. I followed these directions:
https://appuals.com/how-to-transfer-files-between-android-phones-and-tablets-with-mtp-on-ubuntu/
which did not work. Please recommend a way that does, or recommend diagnostics that could reveal why the MTP installation is not working.

TabletsI solved the problem by using Nautilus. The Galaxy Tab S6 showed up in Nautilus as soon as it was plugged in just as expected. This does not happen when Dolphin is used, which is what I was attempting to use to transfer the files with. I prefer Dolphin to Nautilus, and so was very much surprised, and disappointed, to find out that Nautilus can do something that Dolphin can't. Or is it that I just do not know how to do this with Dolphin?

TabletsI think that you are more likely to get the answer in an Ubuntu forum

TabletsMTP is old stuff. You shouldn't need drivers either.
If anything you'd need to switch the USB choice on the tablet.
Yeah. Just tested. Ubuntu 22.04 and just plug in Samsung device with screen on, tap allow on Samsung, and refresh on Ubuntu. Files are there. Swipe from top of phone and notification for USB choice is there if you need to select another.
If you're having issues then ask as bill-e says in an Ubuntu forum as I won't walk you through broken situations.
If you really really want mtp today then I've no idea. I would probably never try for any reason at all.
