I have a used Tab S9 FE 5G and it used to be a Verizon display. I use it with Consumer Cellular.
I'm unable to update it using Smart Switch on a PC.
I took it to a Samsung Authorized Service Center and they were unable to update it.
They suggested I call Samsung.
The software is Android 15 OneUI 7 with the latest update being August 1, 2025.
Any suggestions?
Thank you.

You need to insert a Verizon SIM in order to get updates. You can buy a data-only SIM on Amazon for pretty cheap. I don't think you'll have to activate a data plan. The SIM should be enough to let the tablet know where to pull updates from.

I bought a SIM from Amazon. It did not work. I'm not sure why I didn't think of it before, but my phone service is Verizon. Can you go to a Verizon store and switch from an eSIM to a physical SIM?
Btw, the tablet is used for work.

You can have the store transfer your eSIM to a physical SIM, but I don't know if inserting that into the tablet will enable updates. Tablets use data-only SIMs. A phone SIM is for both voice & data. Might be worth a shot, though.
You could try explaining the issue to a store rep, but they will probably try to sell you a tablet data plan. Maybe tell them the tablet was previously a display model but now doesn't get updates. See what they suggest. I'd be surprised if they offered actually useful advice.
