Before the Unpacked, I expected a focus on privacy and display upgrades, but I didn’t expect it to work like this.
The privacy display feature really surprised me. It’s not just a screen protector, you can turn it on or off. There are two sets of pixels: one projects the image straight to you, and the other projects light to the sides. When the side pixels are turned off, the screen looks normal to you but very dim from an angle.
Great feature to use, especially in public spaces to protect sensitive information. It feels smart, practical, and made for real life.
Yeah, seemed more practical uses are being implemented but is this marketing fluff? First gen Now Brief made a lot of claims yet turned out to be nothing more than an information aggregator. How things work on the videos and with the presenters is often different froman the real world implementation.
What did I initially expect based on the invitation/trailer?
From the Unpacked teaser, I expected a strong focus on AI integration and refinement rather than just hardware upgrades. The tone of the trailer felt productivity-driven, hinting at smarter features that would make everyday tasks easier. I anticipated camera improvements and performance boosts, but I also expected Samsung to lean heavily into privacy and personalization.
Did the features shared during Unpacked surprise me? Yes especially how deeply integrated the AI tools are across the system instead of being standalone gimmicks. It wasn’t just about adding features; it felt like Samsung refined how the device works as a whole. The improvements felt practical rather than flashy, which I appreciated.
What is one feature that really stood out to me? The enhanced Privacy Screen feature stood out the most. It’s subtle, but extremely practical. Instead of needing a physical screen protector, the built-in privacy control limits side-angle visibility while keeping the display clear straight-on.
How do I see using that feature in my daily routine? I’m often using my phone in public airports, waiting rooms, school pickup lines, coffee shops. I check emails, access work documents, and handle personal tasks throughout the day. Having a built-in privacy layer gives peace of mind without compromising brightness or clarity. It’s the kind of feature that quietly improves everyday life without needing constant attention.
Overall, Unpacked felt focused on real usability making the device smarter, more secure, and more adaptable to daily routines.
Love the Privacy Display on the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra especially how intelligently it adapts to exactly what you want to keep private. In my setup, I enabled it exclusively for the Messages app, and it automatically applied privacy protection to everything related to it, including notifications. It’s seamless, intentional, and perfect for anyone who values discretion without sacrificing usability. This level of app-specific control truly elevates everyday privacy and makes the device feel thoughtfully personalized.
I don't know about anyone else but the prices are high enough this year I'm not going to order at pre-order for the first time in 12 years. Losing the storage upgrade and slashing the accessory credit makes it a pretty bad deal compared to previous years. This message is more about sending a message to samsung than complaining to the community about it.
I really thought the Galaxy S26 Ultra would be different. Its nice with all the cool feathers but I like the S23 Ultra better still or even the S24 Ultra.
I feel like from the S24 Ultra to the S26 Ultra would be a generational leap... the built in privacy screen is a feature thats really cool, especially being that you could make it specific to you. The AI that can actually catch on to your routines is real life fire! I love it!
After watching Unpacked, I went in expecting the usual big upgrades to the new Galaxy device lineup — especially the Galaxy S26 series — along with some refreshed wearables like the new Galaxy Buds.
The invitation and trailer definitely hinted at something big around display and AI, so I was anticipating performance improvements and smarter features. But I’ll admit, I was genuinely surprised by the built-in privacy screen on the Galaxy S26 Ultra. That caught my attention immediately.
The privacy feature really stood out to me. The way it intelligently protects your screen from side viewing without needing a physical filter feels like a smart evolution. It’s one of those features you don’t realize you need until you think about how often you’re in public — at work, at a coffee shop, even just standing in line somewhere.
I can already see myself using that daily, especially in messaging apps and banking apps. Being able to quickly check sensitive information without worrying about someone glancing over my shoulder is a big deal. It’s practical, subtle, and actually useful in real life.
I’m also really excited about the improved sound quality and ANC on the new Galaxy Buds4 Pro. Between better audio and smarter privacy, this Unpacked felt like Samsung focused on meaningful upgrades, not just spec bumps.
Curious to see how everyone else plans to use these features.
Disclosure: I participate in Samsung community activities, but these are my personal thoughts after watching the event.
Im SO excited about the Galaxy Unpacked Event! Based on the teaser video, the transparent rotating cube has a shaded side and then becomes transparent along with AI symbol inside of it. Itmakes me wonder if the AI features will be new & upgraded, I'm sure any new features that Samsung Galaxy devices will have will be superior to any other device from any other manufacturer. I can't wait.
Galaxy AI is like a digital universe that quietly learns your patterns and aligns your phone to your life. The more you create, edit, search, and explore — the smarter it becomes at predicting what you need next. It’s not just AI. It’s your personal tech orbit, designed to move with you. 🚀
Based on the ads, Samsung Galaxy Unpacked will likely spotlight three major Galaxy AI upgrades: first, advanced on device generative AI that can instantly enhance photos and possibly even create or edit short video clips with smarter stabilization and low light cleanup; second, AI boosted communication tools like real time call translation, transcription and context aware reply suggestions built directly into One UI for smoother everyday use; and third, intelligent privacy and security AI, including automatic sensitive info blurring in screenshots or videos and smarter scam call detection that works quietly in the background to keep your data safer.
I have a theory after watching the Unpacked announcement that they are going to showcase more advanced out-of-the-box AI features to keep the new Galaxy line ahead of the competition.
Ok so hear me out. Their TikTok post shows a cube with a 3d image so I am guessing either holographic projection with out have to use another device or possibly a projector for movies and videos no longer the need to use a big device now do it from your phone.
So hear me out based on the new Galaxy Unpacked video that was released. I think it’s a new washer or dryer that is a crazy level of technology like we’ve never seen before. This could very well be a long shot, but I think it’s worth speaking into existence. Does anyone else have this same thought?
Well, it's that magical time again! 🥳✨ Unpacked 2026
I can't wait to see what new Samsung AI features become available this year! Maybe new features for editing pictures or videos? 📸🎬
Or something completely different and unexpected for this year. Plus, the new Galaxy device sounds amazing and better than before. Each year seems to blow my mind with the power of the Samsung Galaxy devices. Years ago, I needed a laptop or desktop for some things, but now the power and performance are taking their place 🚀📱. I'm super excited to see what happens at Unpacked this year!
