Bright Spot showed up on right side of screen yesterday. It is a UN65JS8500 and is there a way to resolve this issue with software updates?

Our sincerest apologies for the frustration and inconvenience this has caused. Does this happen on all sources?
Navigate to Settings > Support > Self Diagnosis > Picture Test, and then follow the on-screen directions. Does the bright spot appear during the test?

I have ran all 3 tests and you can still see it on all 3 spots. From what I have seen there appears to be a design flaw as several other users have the exact same issue.

I have the same issue as above except that it is in the center of the screen.

Have the same issue and Samsung doesn't appear concerned about fixing the issue or helping them to get a replacement or discounted offer to keep their customers... Won't be buying anymore and will tell my family the same. I think I've seen enough responses to see this being a significant trend across multiple models and years. Sad because I was about to replace and upgrade other displays and tvs.

Don't bother with asking me to test and troubleshoot... I'm an engineer and this is a material defect in the design. Not sure why there hasn't been a recall.

These bright spots are due to a lens or lenses falling off from behind the diffuser screens. If you lift up the TV and tilt it from side to side you will hear them falling from side to side. It's possible to fix it yourself by gluing them back if you carefully remove the back and then the surrounds to enable removal of the screens and diffuser screens to access the led's and re-glue the lens over the led.

Our 55 curved screen Samsung has the same problem and position as your spots plus a few. Obviously a design issue where the glue holding the discs in place fails  and the fix is a complete strip down of the TV which is beyond most home repairs (look on you tube) After spending over £1K on a TV I would expect it to last longer. Due to the lack of ownership or acknowledgement of the issue I will be buying elswhere. Has the problem been fixed in manufacturing (changed the glue ? ) which models and what years are affected ? If I bought a new Samsung TV today will this issue appear in 2-4 years time ? clear design fault which they wont acknoweldge
