Remote not working and red light flashing

Hello.

Looks like I just fell into the same Remote ‘flashing red, not pairing, not available, tv turning on by itself in the middle of the night’ black hole I’ve seen posted about.  How frustrating!  I have read through the posts and tried everything, yet i cannot get any of the functions to work.  Everything has worked perfectly for over a year.  I’m so confused, please help.

Hello, I am having the same problem. Remote #BN59-01301A

the remote will not control the TV at all. I purchased this from a Best Buy just over 8 months ago. 

are there specific buttons to push for this remote?

I have replaced the batteries several times. Including purchasing new, just to confirm my stock of batteries weren't just old.

Had the same problem and found a solution in a separate forum:

Try pressing the back button + the UP button at the same time for 10-20 seconds.

This will re-pair the remote w/ the TV and fix the issue. 🙂
