A Series & Other MobileI am unable to dial extensions when calling a number. I tried all the usual--adding a comma, a star, and dialing the extension right after dialing the number--none work. What to do?

A Series & Other MobileI dial the number, then after this I try all the solutions above (comma, star, wait 2 seconds, dial the number with none of these) and nothing happens. If I dial the number, connect to the menu and wait until it gives me the extension I need and then try all of the above, it's the same--no connection. I called Samsung and had them test the phone remotely--it's working perfectly.
I'm stumped.

A Series & Other MobileI would try things in this order: try alternate phone dialer. If no joy, delete the cache partition, see if it improves. If not, last resort, factory reset and restore your phone backup.

A Series & Other MobileTried the cache and rest--no luck there. I'll look into the other--thanks. I did a quick search--it looks like others are having the same problem with various Android phones.

A Series & Other Mobile1. Use a Comma or Semicolon for Pauses:
When saving the number with the extension in your contacts or dialing it directly, insert a comma (,) or semicolon (;) between the main number and the extension.
A comma adds a short pause, while a semicolon prompts the phone to wait until you manually tell it to dial the extension.
Example:
With a Comma: Type the number as 1234567890,123 (where 123 is the extension).
With a Semicolon: Type the number as 1234567890;123.
After dialing, the phone should either automatically enter the extension (with a comma) or prompt you to enter it (with a semicolon).
2. Manually Enter the Extension After Connection:
If adding a comma or semicolon doesnāt work, try waiting for the call to connect to the main line, then manually enter the extension once the automated system prompts you.
3. Enable āAuto DTMFā if Available:
Go to Phone > Settings > Call settings, and check for an option like āAuto DTMFā (Dual-tone multi-frequency), which can make dialing extensions more seamless.
4. Try Using the Keypad During the Call:
Once the call connects, open the keypad (the dialer) during the call and type in the extension manually. This often works when pre-entered extensions arenāt recognized.
If none of these methods resolve the issue, it could be a carrier or network-specific limitation rather than a phone issue. Contacting your carrierās support team may also help, as they can verify if thereās anything blocking DTMF tones for extensions on your account or network.
