A Series & Other MobileYes, it's very frustrating, and it definitely happened after updating it to 6.1.
One thing that has worked for me (at least for a while): Go to Settings > General Management > Reset and select Reset all settings, then confirm.
Warning: your data should not be affected, however a backup is strongly recommended.
You will lose bluetooth pairings, etc. but it's a minor issue in my opinion, compared to the screen freezing.
