Hi...most 5G phones allow you to disable 5g to extend battery life.  I have no use for 5G and would like to disable it.  Most places I drive to do not have it anyway.  Thanks

Most carriers have removed that option

I had assumed this is phone dependent setting.  I setup a Pixel 6A on the same carrier (Comcast/Verizon) a year ago and setting was still available.  Will check if it's still on that phone, or did some update remove it.

Can't say every phone has it disabled but know of several that have it disabled

So it's not carrier dependent, but phone mfg or model dependent?

I think it is carrier more than phone model as 5g stand alone would be used instead

If you have a carrier locked phone, that control is most likely disabled, especially if you have Verizon. If you have a manufacturer unlocked phone, you will be able to disable it in the connections/mobile networks setting.

Might be carrier locked. But just in case. Connections-Mobile Networks- Disable 5G
