It can be if you are using a usbc power adapter that is pd charging capable. You can try to stop it by turning off fast charging but then your phone will take about 2ish plus hrs to charge from zero to 100%. You can do this by going to settings>device care>battery>charging settings>turn off fast charging. If that's not an option on that phone then it depends how hot it's getting? I would need more info.
Try not to keep it in any cover when charging it or if it's not in any cover then check your battery health from setting to see if it has battery problem if not then you have to keep it at a low temperature place when charging it too, my is a15 and it does not hot when charging it, it's battery heath is 100% good
