Why can't I add or remove widgets?

The quick settings panel sections cannot be removed. You can move the sections by clicking the pencil icon and dragging the sections where you want them.

It is rumored, but not confirmed, that the panel will see increased customization options in One UI 8.5.

You can, just click the pencil at the top . And you will see this .

You can only add or remove items from the quick panel itself.

Once you hit edit, it does let you remove or add. I dont think im understanding

In the future, (don't know when) 8.5 will let you fully customize the quick panel
