A Series & Other MobileI have a Samsung Galaxy A16 5G. The Home screen shows "Tap for weather info". I would like the weather widget to automatically show the basic weather info (temperature and weather condition icon) based on the location where I am. I have tried digging into Settings -> Location and other places without success. Is what I am looking for possible?
Thanks.

A Series & Other MobileHave you actually added a weather widget to the home page? Pinch your home screen or long press on an empty space on the home screen and tap on "widgets" at the bottom, search for weather and choose your widget. Anything with a grey background can be made transparent.

A Series & Other MobileThanks for your reply. The phone came with a widget of The Weather Channel already installed. Do I need to install a different widget? Why can I not get The Weather Channel widget to do what I am looking for?

A Series & Other MobileThe Weather Channel app is Samsung's native weather app. As you can see, there are several different widgets you can choose from, depending on what information you want to see on your screen and how much real estate you want it to take up. The weather widget shows the basic info that most people want to see right on the screen. You only have to tap the widget if you want to see more detailed info, like the hourly forecast. You can remove the widget you currently have on the screen and replace it with one of the others. You can also download a different weather app from the Play store and use one of the widgets supplied by that app. However, they all display the same basic info - location, current temp, current weather (snow, rain, sun, etc.). If your location is wrong, you can long press on the widget and go to the settings and change your location - it should pick up your location from the location services, though, and change when you are in a different location. What specific information do you want to see on the widget prior to tapping it?

A Series & Other MobileAll I am looking for to see is the temperature, the location (which should update automatically based on where I am at the moment), and the icon for sun/cloudy/rain/snow, etc.

A Series & Other MobileThe Weather Channel widget that appears on the home screen never changes its information based on the location where I am. I don't understand how to get the widget to do that...

A Series & Other MobileI don't know which of the widgets appears on your home screen. Could you supply a screen shot? However, all widgets that can be customized have a settings feature. You have to long press on the widget, which will bring up a small menu. In this menu there will be a settings gear. Tap the settings gear and you can change your location if it's wrong and the transparency (if the widget allows it). You have to allow location permissions for the weather app in the app settings and have the permission set to always. You can get to these settings through the same menu by tapping the small circled "i" on the upper right.

A Series & Other MobileThis is the screenshot showing the widget that I use. It always shows the same location no matter where I am. I would like the location to change automatically, without me tapping on the widget and choosing another location.
Location permission is turned on and set to always.

A Series & Other MobileOk. It looks like you are using this one. If you long press in the center of the widget it should bring up the mini menu and you can click on the settings. Then next to the location, you will see the option to change the location. Tap that and then put in your current location. Also, make sure your location is on all the time for the weather app. Tap the little circled "i" above the settings gear to bring you to the app settings. Where it says "location", it should say allowed all the time. If it does not, tap it to change it to all the time, otherwise it will not update.
