My new A25 won't allow me to use my password protection app mSecure 3

just bought a new A25, extremely frustrated, won't allow use of my password protection app, mSecure 3, forcing me to re-buy a new version when I've already paid for what I use & like. Says it ported over from my old phone ok but it won't run.

Regret buying this phone!

They want me to pay monthly for their latest version, I'm happy with the version I have already paid for. what's the point in buying a new android phone if the apps are not backeard compatible !#$&.
so now I have a device that misses one of my most important reasons for having it. extremely frustrated!

@TNiehaus If you had an old phone, with an older OS, and now have a new A25, that is forward compatibility not backward compatibility.

you're missing the point, newer versions of software should have the capability of running apps which worked on the previous versions...
