You can disable it in settings.

No. I tried with Samsung. It's connected to auto correct. They can't be separated.

You most certainly can turn off predictive text in Samsung keyboard wirhout turning off auto correct.

When I spent time on the phone with a live Samsung representative, he informed me & demonstrated that the two functions are linked. If you want to keep auto correct, you have to have predictive.

Well, I don't use Samsung keyboard, but as you can see, the two functions are entirely separate, so, turn off the predictive text snd see what happens, or switch to G-Board, because you can certainly do it there. One thing should have nothing to do with the other. I have pt on, but I ignore it to the extent that I don't even see it anymore. But, I definitely have auto correct turned off, as *that* I find to be an annoying abomination, which is never correct.

Then you have three options.  1) Turn of autocorrect/predictive text and just do proofreading and manual corrections; 2) train yourself to ignore the predictive text; 3) Switch to G-Board where you can turn off one and still have the other. At least, the way I have it set - autocorrect off, predictive text on (I haven't tried it the other way, because I never want to see autocorrect).
