A Series & Other MobileI'm experiencing two issues after replacing the display on my Samsung A40:
During a call, the screen turns off when I bring the phone to my ear, which is expected. However, when I move the phone away, the screen remains dark instead of lighting up automatically.
When "Accidental Touch Protection" is enabled, I sometimes get a slider prompt when trying to unlock the phone, which shouldn’t happen.
How can i solve this issue? Thank you.

A Series & Other MobileHowever, the first issue seems weird. Once a guy comes up and helps you you'll be on your way.

A Series & Other MobileThe slider is a lock. You have to slide the lock open to prove that your touch was not accidental. That's why it's called accidental touch protection. Since the proximity sensor is contained within the front camera, has the camera been affected? Can you still take a selfie? Is the screen locking when the proximity sensor activates?

A Series & Other MobileWho changed your screen? Did you do it yourself? If it was changed at a repair shop, bring it back and explain the issue. If you don't have to enter your pin (you do have a security lock on your phone, right?) then the screen is not locking. You can do a diagnostic on the phone to make sure everything is working properly. The proximity sensor is not tested during the diagnostic. The proximity sensor seems to be located somewhere near the center of the screen. I thought it was through the camera, but in testing I found that putting my finger directly over the camera cutout does not activate the sensor, but putting my palm over the center of the number pad does. If the sensor is activating, it is obviously working and connected, it doesn't seem to be releasing the touch protection. The only thing I can guess at is that either something got knocked out of alignment when the screen was replaced, it's the wrong screen for your phone, or the screen is defective. I know it's an annoyance, but if the screen is otherwise working properly, and as long as you can turn the screen back on manually, you may have to live with that. You can put in an error report with Samsung through the support tab of the members app, maybe they can determine what's causing the issue.

A Series & Other MobileI can totally relate and share my empathy with you concerning your plight.
By sharing my own experience while dealing with Pasadena TX location with Salesman David Trujilo as I purshed my Samsung cellular device.
I was currently and still am an Xfinity customer and have been past 2 years so to speak...I had just experienced a Christmas Miracle as I have been on a waiting list for housing since May of 2021 with a really Great organization that manged mostly smaller apartment complexes for those with disabilities as mysekf Full R.S.S.D.I. I mention in the Woodlands. I needed a new phone new number new email....no problem Mr. CROW....I told David him I don't use my bank card online and I don't even put my old number o my new device surprise when my current Apartment Case worker caught up with me saying they have been trying to get a hold of me for the past week. Vja my old number and email....I just put the old phone in a desk drawer. Had only been using the new phone less than 2 weeks. So I open my old phone went into my old email account to receive documents and forward to my new email and the to Saint Louis so low and veholf there us xfinity confirmed new line new email evening on my old account no wonder I wasn't being alerted to anything concerning my new samsung account I even went back to the store talked to Lupe Rojas the manger....who told not to worry just reset my new Samsung phone....but wait there more I went back several times In fact over a dozen timed. David would tell me all kinds of lies....he was setting up as a user in my account unbeknownst to me....ultimate betrayal and Luoe covered for him....by March the 8th after seeing my new phone call 2 different long distances calls from my phone....I could hear and see it....I real time. March 8 the day thsh happened now I bought the phone Jan 16, 2025 and I had a lot o my mind and my plate with the chance of a lifetime took 4 years on the waiting list. David Trujilo stole my account missed my chances up with the Housing because my cell phone was now used by the thief Chris....David and I could not even get it to save my settings. Not even like sorry made a mistake sent to old email since I has wife it was an open market I would Change the password someone would just reset to passed I have 2 month of email on 2 different accounts doing a running battle ove my accounts. In pretty much know I will lose all my pictures well google pics any way samsung tutor helped once and got It sort of usable by then it's too late...how can these to be stopped if there done it to me they are others . People like that don't stop until some one makes them stop
