Hello

Have just got a new Galaxy A15 phone and set everything up similar to my previous Xperia - like this new phone a lot! However I have one problem I cannot solve (please bear with me as I am very elderly)

On my old phone I had one notification sound for my SMS and Notifications at top of home page and another separate for my Outlook email  .My ringtone is ok (same as before) but I put my other sound I use for emails in under 'Notifications' and this is now the sound for my SMS and notifications at top of page - my email sound is completely different and do not recognise it! In 'notifications' in my phone under 'sounds' there are only two options to choose from which are 'ringtones' and 'notifications' none for emails. In simple terms pls what am I not doing correctly? Thanks

Moggie

You have to make sure notification categories are enabled.  Settings/notifications/advanced settings/manage notification categories for each app.  Turn that setting on.  When you return to the app settings, you will see the notification categories.  Tap the text to expand the categories and turn on/off the categories you want notifications for and tap the text of the ones you want and change pick your sound.  In emails and messages, whatever you pick for new/incoming will be the default for all notifications from that app.  If you have a mail client with multiple email accounts, you will be able to pick a different sound for each account (if you want) by selecting each account and assigning a sound to the new mail category.  In messaging apps, if you want a separate sound for different contacts/conversations, you would go into that conversation, click the 3-dot menu and select details then notifications and change the notification sound for that conversation.  It gives me a headache to have to remember different sounds for different people, so I customize very few.
