Samsung A71 security update

I just learned from a Samsung service representative that the new security patch/update that was promised will not be available. 

Very disappointing as last month I was informed I will have the update before my corporate security team removes my phone from the corporate network for outdated security patches.

I wad not in a position to upgrade my 2-year old phone.

While you might have had the phone for 2 years, the A71 phone was released in 2020. Software updates are for 4 years from the release date, not the purchase date.

I am sorry you are experiencing this dilemma. You will need to purchase a new device

That is really disappointing.
Samsung Customer support indicated I would get another update this month or last.

They are not always accurate in their information

That is not really a defense when they pulled my model, IMEI & researched my phone for specific information. They confirmed that I would get one more update to the security patch this year.
It really falls on the Samsung experts to tell me the accurate information about my phone even when I shared what you indicated as what I saw on the internet search of "4 years of support".
I am inclined to believe the Samsung support team when they took all of the specific data on my phone, ensuring me of this update. Then, 2 to 3 weeks later, reversing this message.
I probably will not stop here with this idea where "I need to buy a new phone to have continued security patches & support."
Samsung now has a level of responsibility to me when I was provided poor guidance by their tech professionals.
I appreciate your opinion on this matter & it only motivates me to "press on".

You are correct, the last Security Patch should be this December 4yrs of Security patches 3 years of OS Android 13 Ui 5.1.

BTW who is your cellular provider?

Contact Verizon they pushout the software updates to your phone, see what they say.

I have that update. Samsung tech support said one more was coming out now even if the Samsung website said that had no more support. I contacted Samsung tech & specifically asked about that topic of the Feb 2024 release (dated Dec 1, 2023) being the last one.
Samsung tech support said "not to worry as 1 more will push in Nov or early Dec 2024.
Today, I learned this was incorrect & that this prior tech support rep was mistaken.
Verizon can't push what Samsung doesn't have to update.
Am I wrong?
