Surprised that Samsung has such poor design of its galaxy book laptop. I will describe this issue here below. Being a designer myself, I could judge the cause of hinge problem of their laptop design.
At hinge holding screen and base, a plastic cover of channel shape on hinge is fixed with glue. Over time it lost its hold. Overheating is the cause. as soon as I sensed heating problem, I tried all measures including shutting the laptop to tackle the issue of over- heating. I was surprised that there is no alarm or indication of heating built in the system. You have to feel to sense the heating issue. The heat of system has caused / rendered glue to be ineffective overtime and result is you will have hinge problem.
I am sure Samsung people /designers and service people must be aware of this issue and should have addressed the problem by having a software / hardware or other solution to counter overheating issue. Besides, they should also have advised users by calling back the laptops and rectify the problem.
I think I deserve and answer and service support. I shifted from US to India and there is no support here. I tried locating authorised service center, but I found centers are dedicated to mobile devices.
looking forward to resolution of this design/ assembly problem.
