Samsung Book4 Edge Snapdragon - integrated SDcard intermittent issue

While downloading Car map updates to the integrated SDcard reader, the Sdcard reader timesout and disconnects I have to keep retrying my downloads - there is something wrong with the SDcard reader - has anyone seen this issue with transfers?  In my case the map files total up to 12GB
