I could not get my old Samsung DVD writer, Model SE-208 to work with a Mac or Windows 11 laptop, but after hours of searching and trying different things I discovered a solution for the Mac on this forum offered by Constellation. His solution was to get the Samsung DVD writer to work with a Mac.
but I could find no solution for my Windows 11 computer to connect to my Samsung SE-208 DVD writer.
After reading Constellation's solution for his Mac to connect to this old Samsung DVD writer, I tried the same thing with my Windows 11 computer. I connected the Samsung DVD writer SE-208, to my powered USB 3.1 Gen2 Superspeed USB 10Gbps hub sold by Orico.
It worked right away without any problems at all!
Maybe the old Samsung DVD writer just needed more power, and the powered USB hub provided the power.

Thanks guys definitely it's an old one, what I did and worked nicely was to follow the video and first let it recognize directly from the MacBook, took a few seconds on the first time, and then I plugged in the dock station to recognize. The other way around it doesn't work. Thanks for the tips
