Fold & Flip Phones
I received a Samsung Z flip 4 as a gift 2 years ago. It is the one with the largest storage therefore the most expensive in this line. In less than two years the phone turns off when folded in. It turns out that it is the modt common issue and it is not addressed by Samsung. The repair is very expensive- it varies based on authorized provider, anywhere between $379 to $529 with labor warranty from 6- 12 months. Samsung does not take any responsibility for a very common issue that should not be happening in short period of time of usage.
I have been a long time Samsung customer of many of their products. I have a 15year old laptop that still works well.
The lack of support and not assuming taking care of their faulty product is more than enough for me to not continue using their products.
This should be a class action case.

Generally you get a 1 year warranty so that would be past that

Yes. In my opinion, that is the biggest issue - the manufacturer knowing about their faulty product and still providing only one year of warranty. Usually, that issue happens after that period. Getting insurance is so costly,it is like buying another expensive device. One year warranty is not enough for an expensive product.

Yes, it is common. That does not make it right. It makes it convenient for manufacturers to not make products that would last longer. For a product that is expensive, there should be an adequate warranty from the manufacturer, not making the customer pay extra to protect their faulty product.

This is a well-known widespread issue that many users have experienced with the flip phone. I agree that samsung should take responsibility for this regardless of warranty or not.
