I was listening to Spotify with my wired earbuds on my Flip 5 today, which was shut and in my closed handbag, when my music just stopped without warning and I heard a "hello?". This has happened a few times now, only while listening to music.

Voice commands are all disabled, as is "answer automatically" - all the toggles under "answering and ending calls" are off - and my ringtone is on mute (which might explain why I didn't hear a notification but still). Any ideas?

Hey passiflora! Welcome to the Community! This can have people listening to you when you dont want, so let’s get this situated for you as soon as we can. There are a couple of things we can try.

Force the phone to reboot.

Press and hold the Volume down and Power buttons for 7-10 seconds to perform a forced reboot or soft reset. On devices without a dedicated Power button, press and hold the Volume down button and Side button for 7-10 seconds.

Turn on Touch sensitivity.

You can turn on Touch sensitivity to increase the screen's responsiveness. Navigate to and open Settings, then tap Display, and then tap the switch next to Touch sensitivity.

Optimize device performance.

The Device care feature will improve your device's overall performance. Navigate to and open Settings, then tap Device care, and then tap Optimize now.On some devices, you may need to tap Battery and device care.
This will close all running apps and clear out unused memory.

Note
The update menu and options will differ slightly depending on your carrier.

Check for a software update.

Navigate to and open Settings. Swipe to and tap Software update or System update. Tap Check for updates or Download and install. If an update is available, follow the on-screen instructions to complete it.

Reboot the device in Safe mode.To reboot the device in Safe mode, first open the Power menu:
On devices with a regular Power button, press and hold the Power button until the Power menu is displayed.
On devices without a dedicated Power button, swipe down with two fingers from the top of the screen to open Quick settings. Tap the Power icon at the top of the screen.
Touch and hold Power off until the Safe mode icon is displayed. Tap Safe mode to start your device in Safe mode. If you've entered Safe mode successfully, you'll see “Safe mode” displayed at the bottom of the screen. If your phone or tablet operates normally in Safe mode, uninstall any apps that were downloaded or updated just before your device began having issues. After uninstalling each app, restart the device and check if it is functioning normally.

Perform a Factory Reset

Prepare your phone or tablet for reset.
Make sure to back up your phone or tablet. All data and settings will be erased.
Write down the username and password for the account that you used to back up your data.
We recommend having your phone or tablet plugged into the wall charger during the reset process because it may take up to an hour.
If you have encrypted the SD Card inserted in to your phone or tablet, make sure to decrypt it before the reset. Navigate to Settings, search for and select SD, and then tap Decrypt SD card.

Perform the reset.

Navigate to Settings. Search for and select Factory data reset. Tap Factory data reset again, and then tap Reset. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the reset. You may need to enter your Samsung account password or Lock screen password. The phone or tablet will reboot.

Set up the device.

When the phone or tablet reboots, it will have its original factory settings. Now you will need to go through the initial setup to finish setting up the phone or tablet. The phone may require you to enter your Samsung or Google account information to complete the setup.
