Flip 7. My screen is nice and bright when the picture is showing, but when I just have just the clock on (cover screen) it is dim. During the middle of the night, I check my phone for time, I can hardly see it. When the cover screen has my designated picture, you can scroll down for the slide of brightness, but that is only for the picture, there is none for just the time which is a widget. Help....
The AOD is designed to be dimmer to prevent burn in. IMO it's still perfectly viewable if one just wants to look at the time or use it as a night stand clock.

Thank you so much Cosmic Ray. Some of these suggestions I have gone through. I will copy this, and go through 1 at a time, to make sure I know the effect on my phone. This was the same issue on flip 5, but I somehow fixed it, then Samsung did an upgrade and well the fix did not work. I have complained to Samsung about the dimness about a year ago, and they had told me there have been a few complaints about it. Like I said, I use it for a clock at night, especially when I travel.
Again thank you for taking the time to help me out. You did a lot of work. Oh, just an FYI... I also like my phone to stay on when I am talking but not necessarily looking at it, and when I bring it to my ear. I found an app called Screen on and that helped with keeping the screen on when I was talking on the phone. I got into the habit of putting the phone down, and talking on the speaking, like I do at work. Makes it easier to do something else while talking. I called Samsung about that too some time ago.

Are you using a Samsung widget or a Google one? That could be the difference of how the Flip recognizes which to brighten. There shouldn't be brightness issues besides user error on the flip since its range is greater than that of many previous models
