I am a real estate agent so my phone could have put me in a potentially dangerous situation today. I was walking around speaking with a client. When I went to unlock my phone, the first clue that something was wrong, was my fingerprint wasn't recognized. Next thing I knew I wasn't able to unlock it and had to wait for a 9 minute countdown. I tried to restart it, it wouldn't give me any options to unlock it, what freaked me out the most, was being able to drop down the top menu, and it wouldn't even let me make an emergency call. If I had been with a dangerous person, I don't even want to think about it. Anyone else had this issue?
It sounds like you may have been accidently contacting your phone's fingerprint sensor with an unregistered finger, causing the phone to temporarily lock you out. You need to make sure to only touch the fingerprint sensor with a known finger so you don't get locked out again.
