Open a message from the contact, then tap the three dots at the top right. Then tap details, then notifications. You should be able to set up custom notifications again from there.
I'm sorry, but my three dots do not bring up details. I'm about to lose my mind. I've been at this for a week now. I can't tell who's texting me unless I open the messaging app. Such a hassle when before I knew due to the sound I assigned to favorites. Yikes! Thank š you ā¤ļø for your help.
