My youtube has ugly ambient colors regardless of enabled or not

Used to be solid black as it should be. I hate ambient mode. Look at the screenshot. That is with ambient mode off. It changed to this ugly, ugly look after a security update.

It's a youtube specific issue, you can temporarily fix it by uninstalling youtube in the play store, which doesn't uninstall the app but rather rolls it back to the version that your phone shipped with. Until they fix it, this is the only way to fix those messed up sidebars that I know of.
