Security Patch Updates???

May 1st update, not available until May 25th! One week away from June 1st-Security Patch. Same thing happened the past couple months. 🤦‍♂️ If Samsung is going to be this late each time, just make the patch updates available on the 25th of each month. Listing the update as (1st) but not actually available for download until the end of the month, when a new monthly patch is expected a week later, just looks weird.

Where have you found information Samsung saying security patch updates will be available on the 1st of the month? I believe their terminology is the update is labeled as the May 1st update, but it doesn't say that it's going to be available on May 1st. I don't believe there's anywhere Samsung says updates will be available on the first of the month.

This is what I'm trying to understand as I'm new to Samsung mobile devices. Why does it show after each update: Security Patch Level (Month) 1st if the patch isn't available for download until 3 weeks later? Then the following week, a new month begins. That doesn't appear awkward to anyone?

The security patches carry the first of the month date, because it is the security patch for that month.  I can come down any time between the first day of the month to the last day of the month.  The date is for consistency.  Wouldn't be very good to have the January 15th, February 2, March 25, etc. update.

The patches are released by big daddy Android around the first of the month. It takes time for each phone provider to test and tweak to be sure that the patches work with their specific versions on all of their devices. If they rushed it, there would be bugs, which no one wants.

Alright, thank you Red-O. I have more understanding. Such a vast contrast between One UI and Stock Android (which I miss, heavily)

The 1st is date given for the update not when you will get it theres actually 2 uodate versions most will get the 1st version

Goto settings than at bottom about phone tap software information at bottom there's us your patch or current one tap that takes you to Google page first folder there security bulletin tap that than month and tells what's being fixed it also tells the difference on the 2 dates but general rule of thumb and depends on your model a uodate can be first or 2nd week of month but occasionally it can be towards end
