Zoom + DEX, camera randomly rotates 90 degrees?

When using DEX + Zoom the camera rotates 90 degrees in the middle of the call.

My default setup it to use rear camera in landscape mode. The camera decides to rotate back to portrait mode randomly. If you move the phone around it reverts to landscape but then will randomly rotate back. While troubleshooting, same issue with front camera too.

Anyone else experience this on a Zfold 6?

It sounds like your Z Fold 6 is encountering a bug where DeX and Zoom struggle to maintain the correct camera orientation. This may stem from the automatic orientation switching feature not fully aligning with the external display setup. Here are a few potential fixes to stabilize the orientation:

1. Lock Orientation in DeX Settings: If you havenā€™t already, go into DeX settings and lock the orientation to landscape mode. This might prevent the camera from auto-rotating mid-call.

2. Disable Auto Rotate on the Phone: Temporarily disable auto-rotate in the main settings on your Fold 6. This sometimes helps prevent unexpected rotations when using DeX, as it forces the camera to maintain the set orientation.

3. Update or Reinstall Zoom: Check if thereā€™s an update for Zoom or try reinstalling it. Zoom updates sometimes resolve DeX-specific bugs, as new versions address compatibility issues.

4. Use a Different Video Calling App as a Test: Testing a similar app like Google Meet or Microsoft Teams on DeX can determine if the issue is isolated to Zoom or more general. If it only happens on Zoom, it may be best to report the bug directly to Zoomā€™s support team.

5. Software Update: Check for any pending system updates on your Fold 6. Samsung often pushes small patches for DeX functionality to improve app compatibility.

If the issue persists, Samsung Support may need to look into a DeX compatibility update for Zoom, as this could be a software optimization issue specific to DeX and the Fold 6's hardware.
