Most of the phone this days are resistant to water damage. It should go back to normal.

Do you have a fan?
You can use it to try and dry it out, do not use any heat!

Some say covering it with dry, uncooked rice helps. I have not tried it to confirm.

I would power it off and not try to charge it until it's fully dried.

The first thing you should have done is power it off.

What model phone? Most phones water resistant and can stay under water up to 20-30 minutes and still works perfectly.. power off and leave it a few minutes then u will be fine

Your username is creepy, but that's beside the point. What do you mean by "it's dying?" What's it doing now that it wasn't doing before you dropped it? Most modern phones have some level of basic water resistance, I use mine in the shower all the time, I've used it in lakes, pools, and dropped it in the sink countless times. The only consequence is that sometimes it won't charge because the phone detected water in it, but I can just charge it wirelessly.

You are playing with fire there but, hey, it's your phone to ruin.  The basic water resistance of the phones is meant to protect against *accidental* exposure to water, such as the incident described above, not intentional exposure.  And the waterproofing does not extend to the USB port unless you insert a port plug.  Charging is the least of the issues.  If the port goes bad, you won't even be able to connect anything via USB.

You should by no means be using it in the shower, in the pool or in the lake.  What's so important that you can't put your phone down to wash yourself or take a refreshing dip?
