I am preparing to get rid of my Galaxy S9. I have deleted the personal data and I'm checking the remaining apps. My phone number is still in the Messages. I cannot delete the app, nor do i see a way to delete the phone number.

You have to take the SIM out, then factory reset!

Just do a factory reset. It will wipe your phone!

I did that, but the number is still visible in messages.

On what device is the number still visible?

A wiped phone is just that, a wiped phone.

Did you take the SIM card out?

Haven't taken SIM card out, but suspect the number will remain.

Yeah, as Robin said, take the SIM out then factory reset. It's reading the number from the SIM.
