Is there a way to check whether the moisture check is false positive?   My S21 just popped up this warning and will not go away.  I am absolutely certain the phone has not come in any contact with water.

I am suspicious because I recently traded in my S10+ to T-Mobile and we had a disagreement that their "depot" found water damage.   I lost.  It was hopeless "he says, she says" situation.  Ugh...

Good afternoon, I can certainly understand your frustration. Unfortunately there is not a way to test a false positive without repairs. Here are some steps you can try that may help: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/troubleshooting/TSG01001449/

If the troubleshooting is not helpful, the phone will need to be evaluated by a certified technician. For service in the U.S., you can take the phone to a local U.S. walk-in service location https://www.ubreakifix.com/samsung , or to ship the phone in for service, please reach out to us via one of the following options:

1. Facebook Messenger: http://m.me/samsungsupport

2. Twitter: https://twitter.com/messages/compose?recipient_id=18768513-

3. Private Message: https://bit.ly/3hzZfw8

If the PM link is not working for you, you can click on my name and send me a private message directly from my profile.

For service outside of the U.S., please use this link: https://www.samsung.com/us/common/visitlocationsite.html

if you haven't, try this:

Press and hold Side key until you see Power Off - select it to power off the phone.

Now, off to the Maintenance (Recovery) screen:

Press and HOLD the Volume Up key, and while holding, press and HOLD the Side key.

When the Samsung splash screen appears, release both keys. Within a few seconds, you'll see the Maintenance screen, with a number of menu options.

Use the Volume Down key to highlight Wipe Cache Partition. Press Side key, select "Yes".

Now, Use Volume key to highlight "Repair Apps" (should be last menu option). Use Side key to select it.

The phone will automagically restart. Let the phone settle down for a couple of minutes.

... still get the message ?

Another inexpensive option / no waiting on shipment is to place the phone in rice for a length of time

Lol I've gotten this message numerous times when my phone was not near water, a faulty charger wire can make this appear also. The funny thing is earlier this year my small boat sunk in the river and my phone was in my pocket for a while totally submerged in freezing water but the message never came on lol

What's nuts is the phone has an ip68 water rating. Has your phone had a crack in the screen or been opened up that would have broken the water seal? BTW don't use rice. You can use your hair dryer on the cold setting or place it in front of a fan. My son's firetablet gets that warning and I did a factory reset and it went away

I wasn't aware that when you close a phone the waterproof sealing can be replaced. Do most shops replace it? Because I had a screen repair before and was told there was no way to make it ip68 again
